Description
20-22 West 10th Street was originally developed as the Renwick Terrace Townhouses intended for the New York City elite of the mid 19th century. The block is one of the only fully intact tree lined mid 19th century blocks in all of Manhattan making the real estate so sought after here agents refer to it as the Gold Coast.
I went here to see the house two doors down, 14 West Tenth Street as it was the townhouse home on the fourth floor for a while of the writer Jan Bryant Bartell who wrote Spindrift, Spray from a psychic sea.
Walking down Tenth street is a walk back to the days in New York of the Victorian era. It is lovely and grandeur is everywhere on that street. Across the street from this Townhouse is the John Jacob Astor Mansion built in 1833. Tree lined and one of the timeless pathways through our history in this country.
