Karen Cattel is a special artist and her whimsical art looks great on the two sturdy totes I purchased. One is a gift for a friend and the other is for me. I love them.

I so appreciate being able to have this old-fashioned outdoor dinner scene on a tote bag. It is adorable. Thank you for making it available.

I noted that the color came out differently on this size of bag, it is distinctly more purple. I happen to love that color also--the larger size has perfect color, exactly like the photo. I love both of my bags.

Quite beautiful!
This is looking out from a cliff at Ragged Point in Big Sur. A fog was rolling in from the ocean and had a lovely soft light over the waves that captured me with it's beauty. I immediately knew I wanted to paint it.
Big Sur is a sparsely populated region of the Central Coast of California where the Santa Lucia Mountains rise abruptly from the Pacific Ocean. Although it has no specific boundaries, many definitions of the area include the 90 miles of coastline from the Carmel River in Monterey County south to the San Carpoforo Creek in San Luis Obispo County.
The name "Big Sur" is derived from the original Spanish-language "el sur grande", meaning "the big south", or from "el pas grande del sur", "the big country of the south".
Originally I painted under my maiden name and signed Clements for many years to my work. I married several years ago and my married name is Barber. However I sign as Clements to honor my father and mother who loved my art and encouraged me to paint. Both encouraged me in art every step of the way. I am originally from Long Island. Long Island.. I now live in Arizona and love the landscape out here as well. Natural beauty is everywhere. The earth is lovely. I am a member of The International Guild of Realism and show in 9theGallery in Phoenix Az.
