The trail originates at the Grand Canyon Village on the south rim of Grand Canyon, descending 4380 feet to the Colorado River. It has an average grade of 10% along its entire length. At trail's end, the River Trail continues another 1.9 miles to the Bright Angel Campground and Phantom Ranch. These two trails combined are the most common method used to access Phantom Ranch by hikers and mules.

The view is majestic and awe inspiring. The shadows of the clouds crossing the canyons make the same scene different from minute to minute and it is difficult to look away when you are there. Often people find themselves speechless when looking at it as I have observed on my many trips to the canyon.

The Grand Canyon truly is a most remarkable natural wonder in this world. One of the deepest gorges on Earth with an average depth of one mile and an average width of ten miles.

Originally I painted under my maiden name and signed Clements for many years to my work. I married several years ago and my married name is Barber. However I sign as Clements to honor my father and mother who loved my art and encouraged me to paint. Both encouraged me in art every step of the way. I am originally from Long Island. Long Island..
