I bought this as a gift for my daughter and she loved it. The tuxedo cat painting was beautifully done. The blue and purple background was perfect to showcase the artist rendering of the cat.
This plein air painting was done on location in front of Ocean's Ice Cream located on the Pacific Beach Boardwalk at Reed Avenue in San Diego. Lots of boardwalk bicyclists, runners and walkers on a beautiful sunny day! The American flag is flying in the distance and if you head in that direction you'll arrive in Mission Beach. Also, in the distance is Ocean Beach and the Point Loma area.
Since 1997, I have been working full time as a fine art professional of oil painting in the plein air genre. Taking my easel and paints to the outdoors, setting up and painting what I see. My style has evolved from a more rendering approach to painting with less detail and more brush stroke. Traveling to other cities, states and countries has "broadened my horizon." Different light, landscapes, architecture and culture bring new excitement to my work. Exhibiting in galleries, museums and art clubs have played a important role in my career.
