Who is buried in Peters Cave? Hidden in the Superstitions with no trail leading to it some believe that this secret cave was important to finding lost golden treasure. Peter was known as “Old Pete”. Peters Cave was named after the famous Dutch Hunter Gottfried Petrasch, who was known as “Old Pete”. USGS mapmakers mistakenly changed Pete’s Canyon to Peter’s Canyon and now it is forever hidden from old maps. The Superstition Mountains. Their shadows cast over many of the dark past and keep their secrets. Dead men tell no tales.
About Barbara Clements
Originally I painted under my maiden name and signed Clements for many years to my work. I married several years ago and my married name is Barber. However I sign as Clements to honor my father and mother who loved my art and encouraged me to paint. Both encouraged me in art every step of the way. I am originally from Long Island. Long Island..
